Introduction
Welcome to the official website of Ibstock Town Cricket Club. Whether you are a local resident who is just surfing the net, or are newly arrived to the area and looking to establish some sporting links, we are sure there will be plenty to interest you at our club.
A founder member of the Everards Leicestershire Cricket League, Ibstock has a long history and is one of the longest established cricket clubs in the area. We are situated in the heart of the village of Ibstock which is part of North West Leicestershire.
We field two senior sides and play the game to a high standard, our first team being in Division 2 and our seconds in Division 5 West of the Everard’s Leicestershire League. We also participate in the Everards League Cup and the County Cup. League games are played on Saturday afternoons and knockout competitions on Sunday afternoons or occasionally on mid week evenings. We also field a Thursday Evening League side.
In addition to our league and knockout cup commitments we play Sunday friendly games and host Leicestershire County games at various levels, most of which are mid week day games. Our ground is also a featured venue for Leicestershire Cup final occasions. The Club is recognised has having the best ground outside of Leicestershire County Cricket Club, a tribute to our groundsmen.
We have a strong and well established junior cricket policy fielding teams at under 11, 13, 15 and under 17 age groups, who compete in local league and knock out cup competitions. We also enter younger cricketers in locally based Kwik Cricket tournaments. We have various junior coaching sessions held during the season are open to both boys and girls. Accredited coaches teach youngsters the basics of the game and prepare older children for eventual entry into the senior sides. One of the Clubs junior girls has recently been selected to have trials for England.
